my rental car's door hit a post on MArch 25 and the bottom part of the door was affected and I got the bill from the car rental and the bill was 1,500 dollasr (I thought it would have been a lot less than that as the damage was minimal) IS IT TOO LATE TO REPORT IT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND TO HAVE THEM PAY FOR THE DAMAGE AND ME PAY THE DEDUCTABLE? I wanted to wait for the bill incase it was less than my dedictable and I Was sooo busy I never got around to it.

We have reported a claim to progressive but can we cancel?
We have reported an accident/claim. Actually we wanted to report accident, we were not sure if we should file a claim but they right away directed us to insurance claim not just accident reporting. Now the the other driver(who admitted his fault) want to settle the issue without involving insurance company because he is afraid that his insurance will go high. Can we cancel the claim now,without getting any money from progressive? and if we do so,do we cancel the possibility of them raising our rate on next renewal?(Remember progressive will not pay any money to us if we cancel the claim and settle issue directly with party). Or since we have reported accident/claim they will automatically raise the rate even though we will cancel the claim without any payment?
