I have an illiterate brother who cannot read nor write due to retardation, recently he was involved in an auto-accident where we went through a personal injury attorney to avoid dealing with the insurance companies alone, the case was due to be settled and closed by the end of june 08, the attorney will not return my calls, we are told "he is never in now", how do we go about checking ourselves to find out whether the case has been settled or not, we have no case #, other than the case # we obtained through the Insurance company? Nor do we have a court docket #, cannot access info without docket # court clerk states.

How long for my settlement??
Not that I am wanting just the money but I was in a car accident back in May. I was rear ended and suffered a whiplash neck injury, Since then the at fault drivers insurance has paid for my vehicle repairs. I have been going to the Dr. for almost 2 months continuosly (chiropractor). I am well convinced that injuries are permanent. I have a personal injury attorney working on this case as well. Any ideas on how long it takes before a settlement is disbursed (to cover medical expenses and missed time from work)

This morning, while walking home from dropping my son off at school, I was crossing the street when I was approached by a huge man, I'm very small statured so I started walking faster because he was looking at me in a very weird way. He says and I quote, "I need to talk to you". Naturally, I kept walking. He grabs my arm with both of his hands, hard enough to leave bruises, the more I pulled away, the harder he gripped. He proceeds to shove a piece of paper in my face with a mugshot of a young women with NO resemblance to me what so ever and demands, "Is this you?" I said "No, that's obviously not me" He then identified himself as a PA State Trooper and said he thought I was a fugitive he was looking for, no apology, didn't ask if I was hurt at all. I then demanded to see his badge so I could call his superior and report him (that was the first time he showed his ID), he remained arrogant the entire time, as if I had done something worse than taking my child to school. I called his superior and he made me feel as if I was at fault for having brown hair and being on that street, saying the police have every right to detain a suspected fugitive. Now, my left arm and shoulder all the way up to my neck hurt pretty badly as a result from pulling away, I was scared and at 4"11", I assumed I was being kidnapped or something to that effect. I've spent all day crying and had to send my sons father to pick my son up, fearing I'd see this abusive trooper again. I plan to call a personal injury attorney tomorrow and discuss this matter and hopefully go to their doctor to determine how badly he's hurt me. Do I have a case????????
