How dangerous is an EMT/EMS/Paramedic job?
Hey guys, my girlfriend has been studying to become an EMT this past semester, and at first I was completely supportive of the job, but lately I've just been really scared. I should have been a little suspicious when she had to fill out life insurance papers and such when she first signed up, but it's just become more and more apparent that the job is very dangerous. She's been riding as a "3rd person" for about 2 months now, and she's already been in dangerous situations, including the ambulance sliding off the road, dangerous patients grabbing at threatening her life, patients with weapons, and even people throwing punches at her. She's about done with her EMT classes, and plans on taking swift water training as well as whatever it's called where she would dismantle cars to get to people, which only adds to the dangerous situations she would have to be in. This whole time, she keeps mentioning all the bad things that could happen to her, such as the ambulance getting into accidents, cars hitting flipped cars she may have to crawl into, being pulled under the tide in the river, and tons of other things. She knows that her profession bothers me, but I do not tell her to stop. She's seen me cry about it a few times when I really have time to sit and think of the dangers she's in. She plans on eventually becoming a paramedic. Sometimes when I'm really upset, she'll make me feel better by telling me that she hopes to be hired on as a private EMT/Paramedic for some office or something (I don't know how often that really happens). I'm just on here asking just how dangerous the job is, and what dangers is she going to be in? It's gotten to a point where I've pretty much have had to accept that something bad WILL happen to her, and that just makes me feel even worse. We've recently moved in together, and plan on being engaged in roughly 6 months or so. It's bad enough that the firemen at her firehouse are making sexual advances on her (one 40-year-old fireman hinting at having sex with her [whom has had 4 charges against him for similar actions, all of which dropped] and another EMT texting her late at night telling her that she should get in bed with him, and send him naked pictures), but I also have to deal with her being in danger. I just don't know what to think, and I'd just like to hear from someone who has had experience in the business honestly tell me how it is. P.s. - please no "she's running the same risks of dying simply driving her car around" because I know that, but that doesn't mean she has to increase her chances.

Car accident, car flipped upside and remained in that position for over 30 mins-will my engine need replaced?
I was in a single car accident, going around 25 mph or less. I over-corrected after the car began to slip on the wet roads. I ended up in a ditch upside down. My car engine shut off on it's on shortly after coming to rest in the ditch. I was told by the tow company that my engine is probably shot because of the oil being mixed throughout the engine but was told by a friend that it might be fine being it shut off early. i was told that newer cars have a safety mechanism to do this so that the engines aren't destroyed. What are the chances that i will be able to drive my car once i get it back from the impound lot? Please only serious answers only. Thanks.

car accident/car insurance help 18 year old girl?
i am an 18 year old girl (almost 19) living near miami, fl. i am looking to get my own car insurance eventually i have had 2 major accidents -the first one was when i was 17. totaled a 93 bmw in the rain, no other cars involved. i was in the hospital for a week -the second one was recently, i rear ended a small car with my 98 mountaineer. i got a careless driving ticket. the damage is pretty bad (mostly to the radiator) i have also had 2 speeding tickets, both when i was under 18. right now i am looking to get a 2004-2010 used 4x4 pickup truck how much would car insurance cost me per month (estimate) and what would be the best company for me to go with? ok asshole, it was 93 325is bmw that me and a friend built ourselves, i am not one of those kids that 'don't give a fuck' at all. i have been financially independent since i was 17 and am supporting myself. don't assume i'm some rich girl who totaled her daddy's 50k beamer. i'm not.
