$4000 (med bills) + 3000 (car) = my total car accident claim settlement?
I got into an accident where someone merged into my car and as a result, I hydroplaned across the freeway, and crashed into the wall. The other person was proven at complete fault, by the police (there was a witness that saw everything) So now my lawyer wants to settle for $4000 that the other party offered (my lawyer lowered his own fee so I can get more, first offer was $3000) and doesn't want to go to litigation. (he doesn't think my case will get any more money) I'm upset that this guy doesn't want to go through all the steps to get me what I think I deserve. Is the settlement of $4000 enough when my medical bills (back injury) was $4000 and car bills (total loss) was $3000? Shouldn't I at least expect $7000 (sum of two losses) since that's generally the rule? Thank you.

i was in an accident in january, i was pulling out of a driveway and a car struck the passengers side, they took a police report and everything, the other car the frnt bumper came off, yesterday i got a call that i had a claim for $9,000 because that person got hurt.
