I was the victim of a serious assault.what punishment is the offender looking at?
I live in Scotland and was out with a few mates at a local nightclub. I got split up from them inside the club and a random guy i've never seen before hit me when i wasn't looking, it was completley unprovoked. I ended up in A+E with a broken nose, eye socket, burst sinuses, burst nose... two black eyes(one of which is still black 3 weeks later) and my sight has been damaged as well. I'm also suffering head aches. The police are going to arrest the offender once they have the cctv and charge him with Serious Assualt, unless the cctv shows he has used a weapon such as a glass or bottle. I was just wondering what type of punishment this idiot is looking at? and as far as im aware i'm eligable for Criminal Injuries Compensation, how much money would i get? The guy is a nobody so there wont be any backlash for 'snitching';).
