On Monday my Boyfriend who works for a tool hire company fell off a ladder roughly 11ft. Anyway he was at work on his own and knocked himself unconcious after being out for about 50 mins he came around realised he was in pain and lieing on his back managed to reach his mobile phone in his pocket and rang for an ambulance.....he is in 2 minds wether to put a claim in or how to go about it because he shouldnt have been up the ladder..... even though it was because he was closing up and the shutter had jammed and he had to fix it. are the company at fault for letting him be there on his own isnt this against Helath and Safety laws within an industrial company?

Advice please regarding a solicitor!?
My partner won a injury at work claim in December 2009 after 5 years. My partners solicitor has already had 35k from the defendant and recently applied for an interim payment of 2k for my partner until final monies are concluded. The solicitor gave the defendant a 2 week deadline to pay. When the 2 weeks were up my partner called his solicitor to be told that the defendant owed her another 15k and she had received 7.5k of this and therefore she could not do anything about the interim payment as it seems the defendant is paying! She has since given the defendant another week deadline. So to date the solicitor has now had 42.5k and my partner has received nothing! It this right or am I missing the point? Also my partner has to call her for updates as she never calls him and when he does call she always says that she sent a letter explaining but we never receive anything until a week later!
