hi, i and my then wife filed a no win no fee compensation act (which was common for everyone) due to construction works and new road built near my home for devaluation in 2004. i am now divorced. we got divorced the decree nisi just over 2 years ago and part of the divorce agreement was that as i kept the property, it was written into the divorce agreement that she waived her rights to the compensation that was due and i was to receive 100%. since then i have provided the concerned company with the details that i am sole owner on the deeds, i have a sole mortgage for the property, copies of the decree nisi and the divorce agreement. and forgot about it. recently things have moved on, they have selected a figure to pay by their valuer and i have accepted. all was good until recently. the company concerned has now sent a letter to my now ex wife asking for her consent to pay my mortgage company this money. she has rang them up and queried this amount (as its substantially more than either of us had ever expected). they have proceeded to discuss my details over the phone. she even knew who my mortgage company was and that they had already accepted the full amount and its waiting to be released. so, 2 yrs on from my divorce and i feel i still have no privacy of my own financial matters. surely she has no rights to be discussing my finances and this company surely should not now be disclosing this information based on the evidence i have provided to them on their advice when we got divorced? now things are a little awkward for me and i have not done anything wrong.
