If my ex's lawyer doesn't share court information regarding my daughter with me, is it unethical?
I have joint legal custody and placement as well as legal rights to all of my daughter's medical records, school records, etc. My ex's lawyer assumed himself as GAL for my daughter in a personal injury case. No one notified me of anything until I received the court hearing papers. Because he represented my ex, he knows my legal rights and with held them from me until 2 weeks before the court hearing. Is this some sort of malpractice?

Personal Injury claim being settled but Insurance Co.explained they are hiring an Attorney because the case...?
What would have been a large personal injury case dragged on and lawyers dropped it.There was new knee replacement with complications.Anyways,decided to just settle alone for a few thousand to put and end to it.Ins.Co says they are doing something very unique,something they don't usually do.They are hiring and 'Attorney' to make it as clear as possible(For Medicare) that they only take date of fall till 'the knee pop occured'.This is under 3 months that popping occured from date of injury,to knee.The case could be won but my Mom can't go on and on.Been thru too much.Why would they want to pay extra for an Attorney to do this? They know this case is ligit but ALLSTATE does not like $200,000 payouts.Adjuster made a clear this is very rare for them and I will get a call from the Attorney,but,we have to decide to settle first to go further.Just curious cuz it sure sounds strange to me.

Why would a personal injury attorney not hire a doctor when he says that is what you need to win your case?
It's over with now-Attorney bowed out. The case,like most all personal injury cases like this,needs a Dr's ovarall opionion of the injury.This was a serious,life changing knee surgery for my elder Mom.He stated halfway through,I'm hiring a Dr to look at all records and write a report if all damages was result of the fall.We knew it was but he's the lawyer.He said without an orthopedic Dr.linking it all together,there would be no case.No Dr. was hired even when he said he was hiring one.This case is all about getting the last,but what should have been first,thing.A Dr's opionion and report if he was willing.Insurance took liabiltiy but without a Dr to tie up one,and I mean only one thing,this very honest claim is being let go.My Mom can live with the loss of the money,but what about trusting and reliability of the Attorney.Too much other stuff to mention but thats the just strange to me.Any ideas about this would like to hear.Thanks
