Steps in becoming a Corporate lawyer from Secondary School to University? And good University's to study Law?
I'm 15, I want to become a Corporate Lawyer in the future; at my GCSE's I picked IT, Business, History and Geography. IT because well I guess I'm fond of IT and it could help me as Lawyers do have to use computers, Business well if I want to specialize in corporate law - Business comes in handy, History and Geography; two of my passions and both Humanitarian/Economic subjects which come in useful on my College application. As a whole at Secondary school I study (things in brackets are my predicted grades), English (A*), Maths (B), Science (A), RE (A*), IT (A*/Distinction), Business (A*/Distinction), History (A*), Geography (A). At college I'm confused on what I should pick, I was leaning into picking History, English Language and Business & Economics; their is an option to pick Law but I have been advised by an actual Solicitor/Lawyer not to pick Law because Law Schools/University's don't like teaching students who took Law at College because they are repeating everything taught on that course just in greater detail so in theory that A level picked would be pointless. Now these are the steps I've took so far, next year I shall be working at a Solicitor's hopefully on work experience. If you can see any mistakes in my College A Level pickings, please tell me. I'd also like to know some good Universitys where I can Study Law, I was thinking Manchester Metropolitan or Bristol University. The college I wish to attend is a local one, Holy Cross.

Mistake on petition do I get a refund of the fee? ?
I have made a mistake on the divorce petition sent to the court although the court obviously hasn't noticed as they haven't sent it back. My husbands solicitor has written to me saying they won't complete the acknoldgement of service until I send the correct one to the court. I have sent the original petition with a cheque for the court fee. Does that mean I will now have to send another petition and another court fee??
