Question regarding car insurance and non traffic accident claims?
Hi! I was wondering if insurance companies raise your rates based on the number of claims you have total (traffic accident or non traffic accident) or do they primarily look at the claims you have in the last 3 years from traffic accidents. I have a friend that have filed 2 claims for vandalism, 1 claim for over running the curb while parking, one for windshield glass from flying rock on the highway, and one from being hit by another car That's 5 claims in the last year. Now she recently backed into a fence. ( No she was not drunk or anything- she dont drink nor use drugs) She is worried about whether her rates will go up for filing too many claims, or is it mainly the traffic accidents that she needs to worry about. Anyone can have a fenderbender at home, every now and then. Anyone have any information on how non traffic accidents affect insurance claims? Thanks!

How much from a traffic accident claim?
I was recently involved in a traffic accident where it wasn't my fault. I was stopped at a red light yielding to traffic trying to make a right turn when someone rear-ended me at about 20-30 mph. I have gone to see the doctor and chiropractor for whiplash and a few other bruises, but nothing serious. I kept getting the runaround by my unresponsive insurance company. So, I began working with a lawyer who is going to put in a claim based on my physical injuries as well as emotional distress I've had for the last several days (get nervous just riding in a car). My question is: is there a typical amount beyond the medical bills that I can expect? That is, is there a typical settlement amount for a situation like this? Please no answers related to how you hate lawyers or that the lawyer will take 1/3rd. Just give me an idea (if you have any) of what you think the claim is worth. Give me a range you think is reasonable. THAT's IT!!!!

Road Traffic Accident Claim: can I say I was in the car?
Someone hit the back of my mum's car the other day. She was in the car with two of my young siblings. Naturally, she is putting in a claim. My dad is also saying he was in the car. I want to also say that I was in the car. It seems like an opportunity to good to miss. I am little worried though. I do not want to be getting done for fraud or something like that. You all must know (or even had one yourself) someone who has had a little bump in their car and pretends they have back pains and gets a few thousand pounds. What planet are you living on? How many people who put in claims do you think are actually injured? You people have put me right off it now. I even showed my dad this and he has gone right off the idea now. Would have been nice that money.
